Mental Health America of Northeast Florida
The Jacksonville System of Care Initiative and The Partnership are committed to changing the mental health landscape in North Florida, in part by working with the Jesse Ball DuPont Fund to co-fund the Mental Health America Advocacy Center at Mental Health America. The center works to enact legislation that affects mental health treatment in Florida, as well as to raise awareness and create a stable care system. Along with the center, additional programs were established to aid youth in the juvenile justice system:
The Girl-Centered Institute (GCI) is a partnership between the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center, Voices for Florida Girls, the University of North Florida Division of Continuing Education and the Jacksonville System of Care Initiative. This innovative training program educates participants about effective, research-based practices for addressing the needs of girls and young women who have experienced trauma or been impacted by the juvenile justice system.
Juvenile Justice Sequential Intercept Mapping, which was made possible through a collaborative effort by legal community providers, Department of Children and Families, Department of Juvenile Justice, University of South Florida, and the Jacksonville Children's Commission been impacted or experienced trauma by the juvenile justice system: The Girl-Centered Institute and Juvenile Justice Sequential Intercept Mapping.
